1926 Eric Gill (1882 − 1940)

The Gill family moved to Capel-y-ffin in the Black Mountains of South Wales in 1924, and it was here he began working for the Golden Cockerel Press run by Robert Gibbings. In all Gill made some 280 blocks and plates mainly for a dozen books. Eve was used as an illustration in the Engravings of Eric Gill, with a preface by the artist, printed by the Fanfare Press, London and published by Douglas Cleverdon, Bristol in 1929.
