British Council Collection participates in the BBC's Your Paintings project
Your Paintings is a website which aims to show the entire UK national collection of oil paintings, the stories behind the paintings, and where they can be seen in reality. The project is a joint venture between the BBC and Public Catalogue Foundation, consisting of paintings from thousands of participating museums and other public institutions from across the UK. It is estimated that there are 200,000 oil paintings in the national collection, of which 170,000 are now online. British Council Collection are very excited to be part of this project where 415 of our outstanding works are presented.
