William Giles (1872 − 1939)
Highlights
William Giles was born in Reading, Berkshire and studied at the local art school. His first coloured wood cut used the Japanese method, but later works were more experimental and eschewed the use of a key block. He was considered the chief exponent of the colour print during the 1920s.
