Toby Zeigler is a British artist born in 1972. He studied at Central St Martin's in London between 1991 and 1994 before completing a two year residency at Delfina Studios in 2006.
Working both in painting and sculpture, Zeigler's work is informed by geometry and digital practises. His works often begin as computer constructed images which are then transformed by hand onto canvas or into three dimensional form. The aesthetic focus on pattern and geometry is contrasted with organic subject matters such as landscapes, skyscapes and animal forms.
Zeigler has exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions including Galerie Max Hetzler, Berlin (2009), Simon Lee Gallery, London (2006 & 2008) How To Improve The World, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (2009), Natural Wonders. New Art From London, Baibakov Art Projects, Moscow (2009) Unreal, The Saatchi Gallery, London (2008) and Archipenture: painters build architecture, Camden Arts Centre, London (2006).
He is represented by Patrick Painter Gallery in Los Angeles and Simon Lee Gallery in London. His works are also featured in many national and international collections including The Arts Council of England, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery UK, François Pinault Collection, Paris, France, The Saatchi Gallery, London and The West Collection, Philadelphia, U.S.A.
